H.B. 45 enrolled text strikes 2021 and inserts 2024 in 15A-5-103 and takes effect July 1, 2026; the Fire Marshal’s page also says ‘Effective July 1, 2026’ but still carries an older ‘Effective July 1, 2024’ line and a link named for the 2021 inserts.

How Utah adopts the IFC

  • Statute
  • The legislature names the edition in statute

The State Fire Code Act (Title 15A, Chapter 5) names the IFC edition in statute, so a new edition needs a bill such as H.B. 45 (2026). The Fire Marshal publishes amendment inserts and related rules (R710).

Cycle. Irregular; IFC 2021 replaced by 2024 effective Jul 1, 2026.

Sources for the record itself come first, the state’s own records ahead of others. A label marks a source about something else, such as an exception. A source marked secondary is not the state’s own record.
