Codes of Record

One rule across the map

A topic view takes one section of one code and colors the map by the edition each state enforces. The first topic is rapid shutdown for PV systems, NEC section 690.12.

Rapid shutdown for PV systems: NEC 690.12

A seal on the map marks a value read in the state’s own record. Data as of Oct 20, 2026.

Section 690.12 first appeared in the 2014 edition. It was revised in the 2017 and 2020 editions, and again in 2023. So the edition a state enforces says which version of the rule applies there.

States on editions before 2014 have no rapid shutdown requirement from the NEC itself. Local amendments can add or change requirements, and they are not on this map.
