H.B. 65 changes 15A-2-103(1)(h) to the 2024 IECC from 2021 effective Jul 1, 2026, but DOE still lists residential as 2021 IECC (citing H.B. 518 of 2024) and ICC says residential IECC follows the IRC cycle (IRC stays 2021).

How Utah adopts the IECC residential

  • Statute
  • The legislature names the edition in statute
  • The legislature sets the update schedule

The Legislature names the IECC edition in 15A-2-103 and amends residential energy text through the IRC chapter amendments by bill. ICC’s page says residential IECC is reviewed every other cycle with the IRC.

Cycle. Every other ICC cycle for residential, per ICC’s state page.

How it was checked

Partial

Researched in the state’s own record. The seal stays broken until the passage is on file word for word.

The state’s record was last read on , from three source pages.

Evidence 1 source

Sources for the record itself come first, the state’s own records ahead of others. A label marks a source about something else, such as an exception. A source marked secondary is not the state’s own record.

Tracker cross-checks

Code adoption trackers are a cross-check. They are not Utah’s own record.
