Chapter 35 lists IECC-21 and 90.1-19. Ohio deletes IECC C405.11 and C405.12 and ASHRAE 8.4.2, 8.4.3 and 10.4.6, and adds thermal-bridge options. Rule 4101:1-13-01 refiled effective Oct 15, 2025.

How Ohio adopts the IECC commercial

  • Agency rule
  • The legislature reviews the rules and can block them

Commercial energy requirements are Chapter 13 of the Ohio Building Code and change only by Board of Building Standards rule, with hearing and JCARR filing; no statute names an IECC edition.

Cycle. Irregular; follows OBC updates (2017, 2018, 2024).
